Safe use on pavements and roads

The S2 Mobility Scooter is intended primarily for use on pavements, pedestrian routes and other suitable accessible areas. Under our rental rules, the scooter must not be used to travel along public roads. Roadways may only be crossed where necessary and safe.

When riding on a pavement or in a pedestrian area, always travel at walking pace – approximately 5 km/h or less – and make sure that you do not endanger or obstruct pedestrians. On level pavements, keep the speed control no higher than approximately halfway, at around the 12 o’clock position.

Ride even more slowly in crowds, on narrow pavements, near entrances, on uneven surfaces and when turning. Always slow down before approaching pedestrians, corners, kerbs, slopes or other obstacles.

The scooter’s higher speed settings must never be used on pavements. They are intended only for short, necessary crossings where conditions allow this to be done safely. The maximum speed of 14 km/h should not be treated as a normal travelling speed.

Maximum load and estimated range

The maximum permitted total load is 120 kg. This includes the user and everything carried on the scooter, including bags, shopping and items placed in the front basket.

The scooter can travel up to approximately 25 km per charge under optimal conditions. The actual range cannot be guaranteed and depends particularly on:

• the combined weight of the user and carried items;
• hills and gradients;
• outside temperature;
• the type and condition of the surface;
• riding speed;
• frequent stopping and starting;
• battery condition and use of electrical equipment.

Plan your route with sufficient battery reserve and do not rely on the maximum estimated range when travelling far from the return or charging location.

We recommend checking the applicable conditions with the specific transport provider or venue before travelling.
